π΄ Be Awake from Your Sleep β°
Dearly beloved, to be asleep spiritually is a great risk! No one ever drives safe in life, driving & sleeping on a journey. Even when we are on the highway driving, dozing off in 5 seconds or taking a nap is disaster knocking on the door, how much more sleeping & snoring! So, it is in the things of the spirit.

π¨ The Danger of Spiritual Slumber
Beloved, a casual approach to the work of God will never yield divine rewards! We all need to be spiritually alive, sensitive, active, and on alert for us to truly enjoy the dividends or blessings of spiritual stewardship.
The Bible repeatedly warns against this state of sleep. The verbatim words from Romans 13:11 (NIV) are a direct alarm:
“And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.”
Similarly, 1 Thessalonians 5:6 (NIV) commands:
“So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.”

π€² Beyond What We Can Get: The Heart of a True Child
Beloved of God, the assignment you are not truly committed to will never pay you or bless you! Many people come to church based on what they can get alone without playing a part in ensuring the promotion & advancement of God’s kingdom.
A true son or daughter promotes the interest of his/her father. This means moving from a consumer to a contributor mindset. As the popular ministry resource GotQuestions.org explains, verbatim:
“Spiritual awakening can be defined as a βnew awareness of God, a new appreciation for His Word, a new love for His people, and a new desire for His holiness.β”

π οΈ A Call to Active Commitment
Let us wake up from spiritual slumber & be committed to:
- π Soul winning and advertising Jesus.
- π€ More commitment in our various service groups in church.
- π Commitment to our spiritual investments and covenant responsibilities.
- π Being more prayerful.
π₯ The Power of Night Prayer
A great bishop said an hour of midnight prayer and even a successful ALL-NIGHT PRAYER is more powerful or equivalent to 3 days of dry fasting.
This concept finds its roots in scripture. While not about comparing to fasting, the Bible highlights the power of persistent prayer. Luke 6:12 (NIV) gives us a verbatim example from Jesus himself:
“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.”
Furthermore, Psalm 119:62 (NIV) declares:
“At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.”

ποΈ Your Opportunity for Intervention
Let us take advantage of the forthcoming all-night praise & prayer program to provoke divine intervention in our affairs. Reject Satan’s strategy to give you reasons or excuses why you shouldn’t be there.
Spiritual laziness, spiritual emptiness & a casual approach to spiritual things is highly dangerous. As the renowned preacher Charles Spurgeon once said, verbatim:
“The condition of your life may be explained by the condition of your prayers. A sleepy prayer life will result in a sleepy spiritual life.”
β¨ Your Charge to Action
Arise and put more effort in God’s work & He will work out all things for you in Jesus’ name!
Good morning & remain ever blessed, lifted, highly favored, and rapturable in Jesus’ name!
Shalom!
